League Match #4 - Results

Team-
The Boys and Girls Rankings after League Match #4 have been updated.  These rankings are used to seed players during the upcoming State Championships.
Special congratulations to the following players who improved their ranking by more than 5% between LM#3 and LM#4, which is tremendous !!  I've listed players in order of highest % change in ranking:
Sam Moser
Madison Butler
William Selbie
Harris Rosendahl
Carson Morford
The Lincoln Black team entered LM#4  in 4th place for the top League Match rankings, and they played well on Saturday.  We won't know how they finished, until the awards ceremony that takes place immediately after the Boys #1 Final on Sunday of State Championships.
Lincoln team is looking strong heading into State Championships !

VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS OF HS STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS JAN 25 - 29, 2012

Oregon Racquetball High School State Championships

Good News:  This year the tournament is being held the week prior to final exams, so no conflicts this year !!
Bad News:  The host clubs for the 2012 Oregon High School Racquetball State Championships are Cascade Athletic Club (Gresham) and Mt. Hood Athletic Club (Sandy).  We'll need to set up some car pools.
Entry Forms: I need all players to fill out the attached entry form, and it needs to be signed by player and parent (if player is under 18).  NO PAYMENT NECESSARY - You already paid for the first 2 events with your Lincoln registration; I will be issuing a check to the tournament director on the Lincoln team's behalf.
Missing School Friday 1/27 - Players will be playing several matches throughout the day on Friday 1/27, so you will miss school that day.  Players need to get an excused absence form from the office, have your teachers sign it, and return it to the Office (Room 104).
Complete tournament details are included in the attached entry form. Additional logistical information/details about the tournament will be sent via email in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here is a brief snapshot of the pertinent tournament hours and entry deadline info:
Tournament Duration
•         Wednesday, Jan. 25, through Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012
Match Starting Times (these are scheduled match start times and subject to change)
•         Wednesday, Jan. 25: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
•         Thursday, Jan. 26: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
(Note: Matches could begin earlier depending on # of entrants)
•         Friday, Jan. 27: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
•         Saturday, Jan. 28: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
•         Sunday, Jan. 29: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
(Note: Awards ceremony follows last match at CAC)
Depending on the expected size of the draw, we may need to begin tournament play for students in Division 6 (boys and girls) as early as Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 5 p.m. We’re hoping to begin Thursday matches at 4 p.m., but scheduled match start times may be adjusted as necessary depending on the draw. We will do our best to keep time away from school/work to a minimum.
Other Important Stuff
* Students may only play TWO events (one singles and one doubles OR two doubles).
* Due to the expected large draw, special time requests not related to finals are strongly discouraged.
* Start times will be posted to the website after 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24.
* Winners must ref or find a suitable replacement.

League Match #4 - Saturday January 14, 2012

Here are the club locations and times for this Saturday's January 14 League Match #4.  Attached is the complete schedule, and list of players on each team, in case you've forgotten which team you are on.  Players need to show up at the times listed, so coaches can get you checked in at the tournament desk.
Although most clubs have a snack bar, I encourage players to bring some health snacks such as protein bars.  Also would be good to bring water.
There is also some downtime between matches, so there is opportunity to get some homework or reading in.
How does the league match work?  First, all boys singles and girls singles matches are played.  This will take approx. 3 - 3.5 hours, then boys doubles, girls doubles, and mixed doubles play will take place.  Each team can only have one boys doubles, one girls doubles, and one mixed doubles team (so we usually take turns on each team so that everyone gets a chance to play doubles).  Doubles takes about 1.5 hours depending on the site.
Please make arrangements with friends / teammates on your team, to coordinate carpooling to/from the match.  If you have problems finding a ride, let me know and I'll help connect you with someone.
